Auto One New Store – Media release | 2nd July
A milestone for Auto One: Expanding its network with a Premier New Store
Auto One Australia acquires one of Victoria’s best automotive aftermarket sites.
Auto One Australia, a leader in the automotive aftermarket retail sector since 1988, has marked a major growth milestone with the acquisition of a landmark site in Sunbury—one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing outer northern corridors. This latest addition to the Auto One network reflects the group’s continued commitment to strengthening its national footprint and supporting Australia’s independent retail landscape.
The Sunbury store, proudly owned and operated by the Mizzi family for 34 years, has long been recognised as a standout destination for automotive enthusiasts. Its integration into the Auto One network represents both a celebration of the Mizzi family’s legacy and a strategic move toward a more connected and competitive national model.
Auto One currently supports over 80 independent retailers nationwide under the Auto One and A1 Auto Parts banners. The Sunbury acquisition is part of a broader strategy leveraging nationwide infrastructure, elevating customer experience, and securing long-term sustainability for independent operators in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
Mark Garwood, Managing Director of Auto One, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition:
“This acquisition, and others to come, are about more than just expansion. We are committed to strengthening the foundation of Auto One so that we can deliver better outcomes for our customers, our members, and our valued partners.”
He continued:
“This is just the beginning. The team and I are excited about the future of our network and the broader automotive aftermarket category. We stand firmly behind the independents, who make up the majority of the multi-billion-dollar market in Australia, and we’re focused on delivering the infrastructure and support they need to thrive, especially in today’s challenging economic conditions.”
Auto One's vision is clear: to lead the independent automotive retail and trade sector by investing in quality locations, fostering long-standing community relationships, and supporting members through innovation, operational excellence, and brand strength.
As Auto One looks to the future, it remains focused on strategic growth, further acquisitions, and creating new opportunities that align with its values and the needs of its members.
“We look forward to the continued growth of Auto One Australia with our members,” Garwood concluded.
