Sydney Automotive After Market Bolstered as Auto One Expands Network Through Major Acquisitions

Auto One, a leader in Australia’s automotive aftermarket sector since 1988, has strengthened its Sydney presence with the acquisition of A1 Autoparts Earlwood and three significant, high-volume PEP’S stores in Artarmon, Narellan, and Liverpool.

The acquisitions mark a major milestone in Auto One’s strategy to grow scale in key markets while supporting independent operators. A1 Autoparts Earlwood, trading from the same location for 46 years, will continue to be led by Franco and David Burgo, maintaining continuity for its loyal retail and trade customer base.

Founded in 1995, the PEP’S stores have played a key role in Sydney’s automotive aftermarket for over three decades, earning a reputation for fast, reliable service and competitive pricing. As part of the acquisition, all current owners and management will remain involved, ensuring continuity of service for customers, now enhanced by Auto One’s greater buying power and support. The PEP’S Distribution Centre in Campbelltown is also included in the acquisition and will continue servicing all stores, with the PEP’S brand retained across the network.

“These acquisitions reflect our commitment to growing scale in the markets that matter most, while preserving the strong local relationships independent retailers have built over decades,” said Mark Garwood, Managing Director of Auto One. “We’re proud to continue the legacies of the Burgo family and the PEP’S teams, and these businesses now benefit from the full strength, capability, and support of the Auto One Group.”

Garwood added: “This expansion positions Auto One for long-term growth and enables us to deliver even greater value to members, suppliers, and customers across the country.”

Steve Kulmar, Chairman of the Auto One Group Board, said: “These acquisitions demonstrate the strength and strategic direction of Auto One. We are committed to providing solutions for independent operators while building a stronger, more competitive network in Australia’s automotive aftermarket.”

Auto One’s vision is clear: to lead the independent automotive retail and trade sector by investing in quality locations, nurturing strong community relationships, and supporting members through innovation, operational excellence, and a trusted brand.

Looking ahead, Auto One remains focused on strategic growth, further acquisitions, and creating opportunities that align with its values and meet the evolving needs of its members.

“We look forward to the journey ahead as we build a stronger future together with our members, trade partners and national teams”, Mark Garwood concluded.
